The Advanced Culinary Club is designed for students who have demonstrated a strong interest in cooking and are ready to expand their culinary skills. Building on foundational cooking techniques, students explore advanced food preparation, knife skills, baking and pastry, international cuisines, menu planning, food presentation, nutrition, and kitchen leadership.
Students collaborate to prepare more complex recipes, learn about seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, and gain hands-on experience in teamwork, time management, and professional kitchen practices. Guest chefs, culinary professionals, and field experiences provide students with exposure to career pathways in the culinary arts and hospitality industry.
The program culminates in student-led culinary events, where participants plan, prepare, and serve meals for families or community members, showcasing their creativity, technical skills, and leadership. Advanced Culinary Club encourages students to develop confidence, problem-solving abilities, and a lifelong appreciation for cooking while exploring future educational and career opportunities in the culinary field.

What does this program cost?
A small fee is associated with our programs, but fee waivers are available. Please contact our Program Support line at 970-748-5985 or email [email protected] to learn more about financial assistance.
We work with each family individually to help ensure their children can participate.
Is my information safe?
Yes, we have a secure online platform. We will not report your personally identifiable information to anyone outside of Youth Power.
What if applications are closed and I missed the enrollment deadline?
Once applications have closed, our waitlist opens.
Enrollment takes a little time, and we appreciate your patience. Once a spot opens, please allow about one week for us to contact you. Spots are offered based on need rather than in the order we receive requests. Priority is given to students with academic, social-emotional, and/or financial needs.
Here’s how the process works:
- Your student is added to the waitlist.
- When a spot becomes available, our office manager will call you to complete enrollment. This includes completing an application, assigning your student in a program, and sending an invoice to the primary caregiver.
- Your student is now officially accepted and can begin attending programs. You won’t need to call to check your status; we’ll reach out as soon as a spot opens.
